It Begins With a River
More than two thousand years ago, along the Yangtze River, Jingchu civilization emerged — rooted in loyalty, civic responsibility, poetic magination, and public spirit.
The Dragon Boat Festival is more than a holiday. It carries a legacy of civic-mindedness.
Today, in California — a land of diversity and possibility — we seek to transform this heritage from memory into meaningful presence in public life, schools, and communities.
Who We Are
Jingchu Culture Foundation of America is a California-registered nonprofit public benefit corporation (filed December 24, 2025, File No. B20250436798), dedicated to fostering dialogue, integration, and institutional presence of Jingchu heritage within California’s public cultural framework.
Centered on civic cultural participation, we build cross-cultural and intergenerational platforms through festivals, educational initiatives, content production, and community partnerships.
We believe culture is a living civic value — not merely preserved heritage, but one that enters institutions, schools, and everyday community life.

How We Work & What We Are Building
We advance public culture through four pathways:
- Public festivals and cultural events (e.g., “From Jingchu to California”, California Zongzi Festival) — making Dragon Boat Festival a shared community celebration.
- Youth education programs (Qu Yuan Youth Civic Spirit Scholarship and campus collaborations) — inspiring civic responsibility in the next generation.
- Public content production and dissemination (annual reports, multimedia) — contemporary expression of Jingchu spirit in mainstream contexts.
- Community and institutional partnerships (schools, universities, nonprofits) — embedding culture within public systems.
Governance & Our Commitment
We operate in full compliance with California nonprofit laws, with a Board of Directors overseeing strategy and governance. We commit to financial transparency, project openness, regulatory compliance, and clear accountability. Annual reports are publicly available.
The Southern California Hubei Association is a community partner; there is no administrative affiliation.
We promise full compliance, transparency, and responsible use of every contribution toward public culture and youth education. Your support is an investment in a future where heritage becomes shared civic life.
What We Believe
Culture’s power lies in understanding; festivals matter when shared; tradition’s value is in a future carried forward.
